Update as of 9:25 a.m. on 8/18/21: Due to the inclement weather forecasted for tomorrow, we are celebrating Aviation Day inside. While this means we have to cancel the Touch A Truck display, we plan to keep celebrating with everything else inside near baggage claim. We hope to see you there!
[MANCHESTER, NH] – August 11, 2021 – Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) will host an Aviation Day event on Thursday, August 19, 2021. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Passengers and the community are invited to visit MHT and check out the fun activities planned for the day.
Visit our “Touch a Truck” display in Lot A and learn about the different vehicles that work together to help operate the Airport. Guests can also watch K9 demonstrations to learn how police dogs protect the Airport and guests.
Head inside to the pre-security area of the terminal to participate in our paper airplane contest and get some MHT swag. Visit tables by baggage claim, including one with pieces of a plane currently being built (on display by the Aviation Museum). Want to make aviation your career? Talk with our Airport partners about job opportunities right here at MHT (and get some more swag, too!).
“National Aviation Day was first established in 1939 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in honor of Orville Wright’s birthday,” said Airport Director Ted Kitchens, A.A.E. “Based on the popularity of last year’s Aviation Day, we wanted to bring our Airport community together again. On this day, we celebrate aviation history, thank our passengers and Airport staff, and help inform the community of what we do here at MHT.”
In accordance with the federal mandate, all employees and guests are required to wear a face covering at the Airport.
