MHT to Conduct Triennial Emergency Preparedness Exercise

On Saturday, September 13, 2014, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport will conduct an emergency preparedness exercise.  The exercise will involve over 75 different agencies which are part of the airport’s emergency plan.  In addition, approximately 100 volunteers will take part in the drill which is based on a mock aircraft incident.

The exercise will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will run for approximately three hours.  Although full details of the scenario will not be released until the drill begins, the airport has designated an area south of the airfield which will be utilized for the exercise.  The airport will remain open during the drill and there will be no impact to normal airport operations.

Airport Director Mark Brewer commented, “This emergency preparedness exercise allows the airport, airlines and mutual aid partners the opportunity to test and evaluate the effectiveness of our emergency plans and procedures.  We will evaluate and critique every aspect of the exercise to insure the continued effectiveness of our response and plans.”

Members of the media are invited to attend and observe the exercise.  Please RSVP to Tom Malafronte, Assistant Director – Air Service Development, Marketing and Public Relations at (603) 624-6539 or e-mail tmalafronte@flymanchester.com .
