[MANCHESTER, NH] – August 2, 2023 – Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) will host an Aviation Day celebration on Friday, August 18, 2023. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Passengers and the community are invited to visit MHT and check out the fun activities planned for the day.

Visit our “Touch-A-Truck” exhibit in Lot A to learn about all the machines that keep MHT running—from snow removal equipment and ARFF vehicles to the cargo containers that fill our Amazon planes and more. Check out a student-built aircraft, the RV-12iS, a two-seat all-metal light sport aircraft completed by students here in Manchester with the help of the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire.

Head inside to the pre-security area near Baggage Claim 3-5 for some exciting giveaways, including a chance to win two tickets on Avelo Airlines and two tickets on Spirit Airlines from MHT to their respective destinations.* Participate in our paper airplane contest, grab some MHT swag, and visit displays from our partners to learn about job opportunities and how we all work together to make the Airport run.

Hungry or thirsty? Stop by the Alltown Fresh Coffee Trailer in Lot A to try a free iced or hot coffee. When you head indoors, be sure to grab a bag of popcorn, made by our Granite State Ambassadors, or a cool drink, compliments of our Airport concessions partners, HMS Host and Hudson News.

“National Aviation Day was first established in 1939 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in honor of Orville Wright’s birthday,” said Airport Director Ted Kitchens, A.A.E. “We want to use this day to celebrate our industry’s history and share more about the exciting careers you can find right here at MHT. So grab a cup of coffee or a bag of popcorn, and come learn more about what makes MHT the #1 domestic airport in the country!”

*Avelo Airlines tickets are valid for travel from MHT to RDU through January 8, 2024. Blackout dates may apply around the holiday season. Spirit Airlines tickets are valid for one year from August 18, 2023. Both tickets must be used round-trip from MHT to any available destinations.
