Manchester-Boston Regional Airport Invites the Community to Airport Master Plan Public Meetings
[MANCHESTER, NH] – September 15, 2026 – Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is inviting residents, airport users, businesses, community organizations, and other interested members of the public to participate in two upcoming public meetings to participate in the Airport’s Master Plan process.
The meetings will provide an opportunity for the community to learn about MHT’s history, understand how an Airport Master Plan is developed, and provide input as the Airport begins planning for its future.

What is an Airport Master Plan?
An Airport Master Plan is a FAA-required, comprehensive, long-term planning study that evaluates an airport’s existing facilities, future needs, and opportunities for development. It provides a framework for making informed decisions about airport infrastructure and investment over the next 20 years.
MHT has a long history of planning for its future. The Airport’s 1997 Airport Master Plan Update focused primarily on airfield development, while the 2004 Airport Master Plan addressed ground access and roadway improvements. Those planning efforts helped guide the Airport’s investments into what it is today.
This Airport Master Plan will build on that foundation while turning the focus to the next generation of MHT’s needs. The study will take a comprehensive look at the Airport’s facilities, with particular attention to the passenger terminal, cargo facilities, and general aviation facilities, while considering how aviation activity, passenger needs, technology, and the region may evolve over the next 20 years.
The Master Plan does not begin with predetermined projects or outcomes. Through technical analysis, stakeholder coordination, and community input, the process will identify needs, evaluate alternatives, and develop recommendations to help guide MHT’s future.
Aviation Director Tom Malafronte stated, “The Airport Master Plan is the guiding document used to ensure Manchester-Boston Regional Airport remains safe, financially sustainable, and responsive to the evolving needs of our passengers, air carriers, businesses, and the broader New Hampshire economy. The 2027 Master Plan Update, which will coincide with the Airport’s 100th anniversary, will establish a practical, community-informed roadmap for the Airport’s foreseeable future. We are pleased to begin this important process with our initial public information workshops and welcome public input as we plan for MHT’s next century of flight.”
What to Expect at the Public Meetings
The public input meetings will be held in an open-house format with no formal presentation. Attendees can visit information stations, talk with team members, ask questions, and provide input. The team includes MHT staff, the Airport’s Master Plan consultant Centurion Planning & Design, and members of the consultant team supporting the planning, technical analysis, and community engagement efforts. Stations will introduce MHT’s history and previous Master Plans, the Master Plan process, what the study will produce, and the inventory of existing Airport facilities.
Your Input is an Important Part of the Process
Community input is an important part of the Master Plan. Attendees can share comments through surveys and comment cards during the public meetings. For those unable to attend in person, an online survey will also be available to provide input to the Airport Master Plan team. Comments will be considered as the Master Plan develops, with additional opportunities for public participation throughout the process.
