Environmental Assessment Available for Comment

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport has recently completed an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the demolition of buildings partially located within the Runway Protection Zone (RPZ) of Runway 06. Buildings that are considered places of assembly are deemed to be a non-compatible use by the FAA and should be removed when the opportunity is presented.

The Airport was able to purchase the Highlander Inn & Conference Center when it was put up for sale by the previous owners. The Inn is located within the RPZ. The FAA partially funded the purchase of the property and will be funding the demolition.

As part of the FAA’s approval process, an EA was conducted and is made available for public comment for a period of 30 days. If you would like to review and comment on this document, please click on the pdf file at the bottom of this page.

Comments may be emailed to John Hagopian at: jhagopian@flymanchester.com. The comment period will close on February 3, 2012.
