Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program
MHT is proud to be a member of the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network! This reflects our commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and understood.
The Sunflower empowers individuals with non-apparent disabilities, conditions, or chronic illnesses by giving them a discreet way to let others know that they may need a little extra help, patience, space, or time. There’s nothing to explain—just wear your Sunflower, and the MHT team is ready to offer support however you need it.
Where To Pick Up Your Sunflower:
We want the Sunflower to be easy for anyone to access. Need a lanyard or badge? Stop by our Information Booth on the first floor near Baggage Claim 3 or by the Receptionist Office on the third floor of the terminal. We are happy to help you, no questions asked. Just say you’d like a Sunflower.
Together, we can help make the invisible, visible.

FAQs:
What is the Sunflower, and how does it work?
The Sunflower is a simple yet powerful symbol that helps people with non-apparent disabilities let others know they might need a little extra understanding, time, or support. By wearing a Sunflower lanyard, badge, or other item, you can subtly communicate your needs without having to explain them. It’s all about creating a more supportive and understanding environment.
Who is the Sunflower for, and why is it important?
The Sunflower is for anyone with a non-apparent disability—like autism, chronic pain, mental health conditions, or neurological conditions—who wants to signal that they might need a bit of extra help or patience. It’s also for people who want to foster a culture of kindness and inclusion. The Sunflower is important because it raises awareness about non-apparent disabilities and helps break down barriers, making the world a little more understanding for everyone.
