Manchester-Boston Regional Airport To Conduct Emergency Exercise

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) will conduct an emergency preparedness exercise.  The exercise will involve over 75 different agencies which are part of the airport’s emergency plan.  In addition, approximately 80 volunteers will take part in the drill which is based on a mock aircraft incident.

The exercise will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will run for approximately three hours.  The airport will remain open during the drill and there will be no impact to normal airport operations.  MHT travelers, local businesses and neighbors should be aware of emergency response vehicles operating around the airport.

Airport Director Mark Brewer commented, “This exercise is intended to test the emergency preparedness of the airport, airlines and our mutual aid partners.  The mid-week schedule for this year’s event will allow for a greater mutual aid response and provide additional opportunities for training and development.  We want to thank all of our mutual aid partners as well as the local hospitals for their participation. Their support is vital to the preparedness of the airport in the event of an actual emergency.”
