New Concord Bus Service Off to a Great Start!

The Manchester Transit Authority was excited to welcome aboard the 500th passenger to use their new Concord Express bus service that connects Concord with the Manchester Boston Regional Airport and Downtown Manchester.

Service began on July 1st and offers passengers direct bus service from the Stickney Ave park and ride in Concord to the Airport. Service operates Monday through Friday with the first departure from Concord to the Airport at 3:55 AM and the last bus leaving the Airport headed to Concord at 12:15 AM. This allows passengers arriving or departing on any flight to use the bus system to connect with the Airport.

Fares are only $4.00 per person and just $2.00 for seniors, 65 years of age and older, as well as passengers with a Medicare ID or MTA half fare ID.

MTA has implemented this service for an initial one year period while a demand study is performed by the Southern New Hampshire and Central New Hampshire Planning Commissions to address long term solutions for meeting transportation demands in the corridor.

MTA Executive Director Mike Whitten stated “The Manchester Boston Regional Airport is one of the largest economic engines of our state and MTA is excited to play a role in connecting residents of New Hampshire with the Airport. Whether they’re traveling for business or leisure, MBRA is a first rate airport and we want to do whatever possible to expand access to as many people as possible so that they may experience all that MBRA has to offer. This service expansion represents the first step towards that goal”.

Funding for the new service is provided through the Federal Transit Administration with matching funds from State of New Hampshire toll credits.
