Air Service Incentive Program

MANCHESTER-BOSTON REGIONAL AIRPORT
AIR SERVICE INCENTIVE PROGRAM

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (the “Airport”) is committed to developing successful, mutually beneficial partnerships with commercial passenger and cargo airlines. Building a world-class airport and ensuring comprehensive air service are essential for economic development in the central and northern New England region. To this end, the Airport works closely with domestic and international airlines to develop and support the initiation of new nonstop markets and additional airline services to markets determined to be currently underserved.

1. PURPOSE

The Airport has established an aggressive Air Service Incentive Program to encourage airlines currently serving the Airport, as well as new entrant airlines, to initiate new nonstop or additional nonstop service to markets that currently have no nonstop service from the Airport; or markets that the Airport has determined to have inadequate nonstop service levels.

2. QUALIFYING AIR SERVICE

Any new nonstop airline service to an international or domestic market currently not served; or any additional nonstop airline service to markets currently underserved at the Airport. Frequency of new service must meet or exceed three roundtrip flights per week for international service and five roundtrip flights per week for domestic service.

3. AIR SERVICE INCENTIVE PROGRAM

The Airport will waive operating fees and landing fees, as well as provide substantial marketing money (minimum of a twelve-month commitment required) and facility “fit out” assistance for airlines to encourage new non-stop domestic and international flights that achieve the goals of the Airport and the region. The Airport’s Air Service Incentive Program to airlines (negotiated by market, frequency of service and size of equipment) for new nonstop service to international or domestic markets currently not being served, or additional service to markets determined to be underserved includes:

New Nonstop Markets

  • Up to 24-months landing fee waivers
  • Up to 24-months terminal rental fee waivers (terminal rental credits for new nonstop markets based upon percentage of total service)
  • Up to $500,000 marketing assistance

Additional Nonstop Service to Underserved Markets

  • Up to 12-months landing fee waivers
  • Up to 12-months terminal rental fee waivers (terminal rental credits for additional nonstop service based upon percentage of total service)
  • Up to $250,000 marketing assistance
