Residential Sound Insulation ProgramResidential Sound Insulation Program
As of February 28, 2010, the Airport has sound insulated all eligible dwellings interested
in receiving sound insulation modifications and has suspended its residential sound
insulation program. If you have warranty issues or general questions about the
suspension of the program, please contact Kathy Tarbox at 603-628-6211.
A total of 1238 homes, condos and apartments; 3 schools; 2 churches; and several
daycares were sound insulated at a total cost of approximately $54M. New noise
contours, developed in 2010, reflect the significant decreases in aircraft operations at the
Airport and based on these contours there are no new homes eligible for sound insulation
at this time. The Airport will develop new contours when increases in aircraft operations
warrant an update.
Property Acquisition Program
Manchester-Boston Regional Airport Property Acquisition Program is a voluntary
program designed to give homeowners located within the Airport’s runway protection
zone (RPZ) the opportunity to sell their homes and relocate from the shadow of the
Airport. The FAA has identified homes eligible for participation in this program. To
date, approximately 100 area homeowners have accepted the Airport’s offer for purchase
of their home. The goal of this voluntary program is to work with each and every eligible
homeowner interested in relocating from within the Airport’s RPZ.
