Delta Air Lines Announces Air Service Enhancements to Atlanta and Detroit

October 19th, 2009

Great News!  Delta Air Lines, one of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport's leading airlines, has announced it will upgrade jet service to Atlanta beginning January 10, 2010.  Delta will replace the 70-seat regional jet that currently departs at 3:00 PM with a 142-seat MD-88 aircraft departing at 6:45 AM.  The MD-88 will return to Manchester at 11:15 PM, allowing business and leisure passengers the opportunity to spend a full day in Atlanta and better connectivity to the vast  network of Delta flights in Atlanta.

In addition, Delta will add a fourth daily round-trip flight to Detroit beginning December 17, 2009.  This new flight is scheduled to depart Manchester at 6:00 AM and will provide another option for air travelers seeking access to Detroit and the large network of connecting cities through this Delta hub.

According to Airport Director Mark P.Brewer, A.A.E., "Delta Air Lines is a very well respected and popular airline that offers service to some of our top destinations.  We are both thankful and enthusiastic that, given the economic hardships facing the airline industry, Delta has recognized the strength of our market by adding both service and seats.  We are confident that these new service enhancements will be well supported and we look forward to working with Delta to ensure their success."
